A stable ten-mod Probably Stolen loadout for an economy or Rock Bottom run, with load order, settings, conflict checks and a three-day test routine.

Probably Stolen Modded Run Pack
This is a ten-mod pack built for a profit or Rock Bottom run: seven information/UI mods plus Better Water Trading, WaterTower and Proficiency System. Install in the order below, restart after each enable, and test for three in-game days before you commit a long save. Do not add Brewing Expansion until the core pack is stable.
Most "best mod" lists are a pile of subscriptions. This one is a loadout: a specific set, a specific order and a specific test. The goal is a run that is easier to read and faster to operate without changing the economy so much that the result is meaningless.
The ten mods
| # | Mod | ID | Role |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Better Water Trading | 3828878417 | Water quality scanning, labels, filter maintenance |
| 2 | WaterTower | 3829418556 | Central water collection, 600L tank, three filters |
| 3 | Proficiency System | 3828910575 | Planting and chemistry progression, nursery discounts |
| 4 | Item Details | 3828868413 | Tooltip authenticity, true value, hidden info |
| 5 | Appraisal Slip to Trash | 3829353625 | Removes appraisal-slip clutter |
| 6 | Client Demand Highlight | 3828938065 | Outlines what the customer wants |
| 7 | Shutter Events | 3829019153 | Today's events on the shutter |
| 8 | Reputation Pop | 3829053332 | Faction-colored reputation change |
| 9 | Bargain Panel On The Left | 3829267478 | Moves the haggle panel left |
| 10 | Smart Inventory Arrange | 3829206666 | Sorts identical items into rows |
The first three change the economy or progression. The last seven change how you see and operate the store. That split is deliberate: if the run's numbers move, you know it came from the first three.
Why these ten
Better Water Trading + WaterTower
Water is the most reliable early business and the easiest to misprice. Better Water Trading makes quality visible; WaterTower removes the daily collection chore and gives a 16×18 work area with a 600L tank and three filter slots in series.
The pair is the pack's economic engine. It is also the pair to drop for a Rock Bottom run, because both cost capital you do not have on day one.
Proficiency System
The 2.0.0 update adds planting and chemistry categories. The nursery line gives −2% seed purchase price per level, and harvesting/trading feeds progression. It is a long-run mod: the discount is small at level 1 and meaningful at level 10.
Item Details
The information backbone. Authenticity, true value and hidden information in the tooltip; flags wanted and augmented customers. It supports all 11 languages and uses the native mod system.
Appraisal Slip to Trash
Quality of life, not power. Appraisal slips accumulate; this removes them. It does not change values.
Client Demand Highlight + Shutter Events
Demand Highlight shows the customer's wanted goods in green/amber/red, with an F5 hotkey. Shutter Events shows today's price modifiers before you open. Together they turn pricing from guesswork into a pre-open routine.
Reputation Pop + Bargain Panel
Reputation Pop makes the faction consequence of a trade visible. Bargain Panel moves the haggle UI to the left, which keeps the customer and the price in one view.
Smart Inventory Arrange
The final mod in the load order because it changes the inventory layout. Right-click an empty slot → Smart Arrange; F6 for settings. Put it last so the inventory is already sorted by the other mods' item additions.
Load order
If your mod manager lets you order mods, use this sequence:
- Better Water Trading.
- WaterTower.
- Proficiency System.
- Item Details.
- Appraisal Slip to Trash.
- Client Demand Highlight.
- Shutter Events.
- Reputation Pop.
- Bargain Panel On The Left.
- Smart Inventory Arrange.
The logic: foundational systems first, information next, UI last. If the game or manager ignores the order, install in this sequence and restart after each one; the final state is the same.
Install routine
- Back up the save. Copy the
Probably Stolenfolder fromAppData\LocalLow\Questing Goose Studio. - Disable other mods. Start from vanilla plus this pack.
- Subscribe to all ten. Let Steam finish downloading.
- Enable one at a time in the Mods panel, in the order above.
- Restart after each enable. The game asks; do it.
- Load a test save, not your main run.
- Check F8 for errors after each load.
- Play three in-game days. If stable, keep the pack.
Do not enable all ten at once. If the game breaks, you will not know which mod caused it.
Settings to change
- Client Demand Highlight: F5 is the default; keep it. Turn off contraband highlighting if the extra color is distracting.
- Item Details: turn off the sections you do not use. The tooltip can become long.
- Shutter Events: keep red/green price coding; it is the point.
- Smart Inventory: bind a hotkey; the right-click menu is slower.
- WaterTower: check the filter order. Three slots run in series; a dirty first filter affects the rest.
- Proficiency System: check the category UI after the 2.0.0 update; planting and chemistry are separate.
Rock Bottom adjustments
Rock Bottom starts with 0 credits. The full pack is too expensive: WaterTower and the water infrastructure are mid-game purchases.
For Rock Bottom, keep:
- Item Details.
- Client Demand Highlight.
- Shutter Events.
- Reputation Pop.
- Smart Inventory.
- Appraisal Slip to Trash.
Drop:
- WaterTower (until you have a water business).
- Better Water Trading (until you have water stock).
- Proficiency System (until you have a farm).
Add later, after the first rent. The Rock Bottom guide covers the opening.
Economy-run adjustments
For a water or wine economy run, the full ten is a good base. Add:
- Brewing Expansion (3829730904) for the wine chain.
- CorpPresence (3828913695) for corporate customers, at low strength.
- DangpuPlus (3828893950) only if you want an all-in-one and are willing to drop the overlapping UI mods.
Do not add all three at once. The pack is already ten mods; each addition is a new variable.
Stability checklist
- Game version: 1.0.0.6 or newer.
- Mod version: last updated after 31 October 2026.
- No duplicate appraisal mods: Item Details and Appraisal Assistant overlap. Pick one.
- No DangpuPlus with Client Demand Highlight unless you disable the duplicate feature.
- No two brewing mods.
- No demo-era mods.
- No save editor on the same save.
- F8 clean: no red errors after load.
- Three-day test: save, reload, sleep, reload again.
If a mod fails the test, remove it and repeat. A stable nine-mod pack is better than a crashing ten-mod pack.
Performance notes
- WaterTower adds a large machine area; if the store stutters, reduce the number of collectors inside.
- Brewing Expansion adds 180 items; the first load after installing is slower.
- Smart Inventory is lightweight.
- Item Details builds a longer tooltip; it does not affect frame rate.
- Proficiency System adds UI and progression checks; negligible.
If the game stutters after the pack, disable WaterTower first, then Brewing Expansion if installed. The UI mods are not the usual cause.
Uninstall order
Remove in reverse order:
- Smart Inventory Arrange.
- Bargain Panel.
- Reputation Pop.
- Shutter Events.
- Client Demand Highlight.
- Appraisal Slip to Trash.
- Item Details.
- Proficiency System.
- WaterTower.
- Better Water Trading.
Back up the save before removing a mod that adds items. WaterTower and Proficiency add persistent state; removing them may orphan objects. The save editor guide explains the backup routine.
Is this pack worth it?
Yes, if you want a cleaner information layer and a scalable water business without turning the game into a different genre. No, if you want a pure vanilla experience or a minimal mod list.
